Postnatal Bodywork
Postnatal bodywork is a great way to honor the end of one version of living, and the start of a brand new journey: the journey of parenthood.
In the raw moments of early postpartum, it becomes apparent that what you just went through—pregnancy and birth— took a lot out of you and your body. And that was just the beginning! In the postnatal period, you may be processing your birth experience, learning how to feed your child, living in fragments, and dealing with body changes. Your baby, up until this point, has only known the comfort of being inside your body. And now they are out in the world, which can cause many sleepless nights.
During postpartum, some prenatal pain may resolve. However, new aches and pains may occur from birth, feeding, carrying, and new baby stress. When you are a new parent, you know that getting one hour to yourself in the postnatal stage can be rejuvenating. Taking an hour away to receive postnatal bodywork is a great way to release tension, promote healing, feel supported, and reconnect to your body. Gentle bodywork can also support circulation and lymphatic flow, helping to reduce swelling and encourage your body’s natural healing processes.
It is truly one of the best gifts for a new parent.
Post Cesarean Scar Tissue Release
Whether your cesarean was planned or not, it is a major abdominal surgery. Some may find that as their c-section site heals, tightness lingers around the incision (which can even affect the low back and hips). Once you have been cleared by your healthcare provider (usually around six weeks), scar tissue massage is a great way to release adhesions in the fascia that could be causing tightness and increase mobility.
